We did it...the
marathon...is...over(heavy breathing)....(more heavy
breathing)....
What a great success. We
have learned so much about ourselves and our music
through this race. We learned to look outside of
ourselves (which is hard to do in this business) and
deep within at the same time. We saw so much
inspiration and beauty around us, and found unknown
bounds of perseverance in ourselves. I don't know where
we got the energy to get up and train every Sunday
morning after working until 4-5 am each Saturday night,
but we always met the team at 8am sharp to run anywhere
from 10 km to 20 km. Bobby sprained his ankle at the
fundraiser back in April, and still ran on the half
recovered leg. We said we were going to cross the
finish line together, so he held back to run it with
me, who did the first 10km in under 40 minutes, but
then really felt the hills in Stanley Park after the
first hour. Well, after all said and done, we did the
26.2 km in 2:34hrs. Everybody that donated on line and
at the fundraise will be happy to know that we raised
$5000.00 for Leukemia and Lymphoma research with their
help!!! Way to go team!
